This page will help you configure your Outlook Express 4.5
program on your MacIntosh computer. First, go ahead and
start the Outlook Express program if you have not already done
so. |
STEP 1:
From the menu bar at the top of the Outlook Express program,
choose Edit-->Preferences.

STEP 2:
After Step 1 above, you should see a window like the
one-below. Make sure that in the column on the left,
"E-mail" is selected. Type in your name in the box
labeled "Full Name", then enter your KansasNet email address
in the "E-mail address" field (i.e.
username@kansas.net). In the "SMTP server" and
"POP Server" boxes, type in mail.kansas.net.
Enter your KansasNet username in the "Account ID" field and
then your password where it says Save Password. We
recommend you check the Save Password box so that you do not
have to enter your password each time you check your email.
Finally, in the box labeled "Account name" at the very
bottom, just type in mail.kansas.net
STEP 2:
On the left column in the Preferences window, choose Proxies.
You should see a window like the one below. Make sure that
Proxies are Disabled. Then press OK at the bottom to save
the changes.

STEP 3 (optional):
After Step 2 above, your Outlook Express program is now configured
to check your @kansas.net email. The next few screenshots below
show some recommended settings for your Outlook Express program.
You can access these settings by choosing Edit-->Preferences from
the menu bar and choosing the appropriate highlighted column on the
left as shown in the pictures below.
