Microsoft Windows 95 Dial-Up Networking 1.3 Upgrade
Windows 95 Dial-Up Networking 1.3 Upgrade replaces all of the
Dial-Up Networking components, and also installs new versions of the
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)and the Network Device
Interface Specification (NDIS) layer. A new version of Winsock is included as an
optional component to correct name resolution limitations in the original
Windows 95 software.
System Requirements
You can apply the Dial-Up Networking 1.3 Upgrade to existing Window 95-based
computers, including the retail version of Windows 95, and Windows 95 OEM
Service Release 2 (OSR2).
Operating System - Windows 95
Important: DO NOT INSTALL THE UPGRADE ON Windows 3.1, Windows
98, or any other version of Windows other than Windows 95. In order to
check your version of Windows 95, right-click on the 'My Computer' icon on your
desktop and then choose Properties. The following window will appear.

You will see in the System Properties window:

If your version of Windows 95 is anything other than 4.00.950 B
or 4.00.950a or 4.00.950, DO NOT install this upgrade.

To install this file, click the link above and then:
- Select "Save this Program to Disk" to copy the download to your
machine for installation once the download is complete.
Once you have installed the patch and rebooted your system,
click Start-->Settings-->Control Panel-->Add/Remove
Programs-->Windows Setup-->Communications-->Details, and then UNCHECK
Virtual Private Networking. Press OK, and then press OK again.
Next, in the Control Panel window, double-click
"Network", and in the window that appears you will see a list of
devices and components. Click on "Dial-Up Adapter #2 (VPN
Support)" and then click Remove. Next press OK at the bottom and
reboot your computer when asked.
